Half-Size Utahraptor Foot

from £80.00

As large as a bear, with all of the deadly adaptations of dromaeosaurs (raptor dinosaurs), utahraptor was a predator to be feared.

Utahraptor is, in fact, the largest dromaeosaur currently known. At roughly 500 kg and 6-7 meters long, it was a heavily-built raptor which preyed on the contemporary iguanadonts and therizinosaurs of early Cretaceous Utah (from where it gets its name).

Utahraptor’s legs and foot structure reveal its hunting strategy. Whilst other raptors had less robust leg and foot bones, utahraptor’s were thick and strong, and were build to withstand the significant force of kicking large animals. Whilst this behaviour is assumed to a degree with smaller dromaeosaurs, in utahraptor’s case palaeontologists can be fairly confident.

Likely feathered and assumed to be a social animal, utahraptor was no doubt the stuff of nightmares whilst it was alive.

Sculpted by Dave at Nova Studios, we offer our utahraptor foot in two user-friendly forms:

Our basic product offering comes in two forms:

  • An unpainted kit made from PLA with a brass support rod. If you select this form, you will receive a ready to articulate, but unfinished assembly. The model will require the gluing of joints, which we recommend doing before painting. It will come un-primed and will require painting/weathering. Each kit will come with a set of basic instructions and material recommendations.

  • A finished model which has been painted, weathered and varnished (to protect paint job). It will be shipped unassembled, however basic assembly instructions will be included. Time required for assembly: probably 30 seconds - it’s putting a brass rod in slot.

A complete foot will have the following dims:

    • Length 247mm

    • Height 319mm

    • Width 178mm

If you choose the finished option, Joe will send an email across to discuss paint schemes, time frames etc. He will also provide email updates as he progresses through the build so you can see how your raptor foot was made! An estimated completion time would be two working weeks.

If you would like an alternative size (like say full size), materials or something slightly different, please get in touch via the “contact us” page.
