Tylosaurus proriger 1:18 Scale Model

from £136.00

Mosasaurs were the largest lizards to have ever existed on Earth and the largest of the mosasaurs were the apex predators of their ecosystems.

Tylosaurus is one of the largest mosasaurs known and lived in what is now known as the Western interior seaway during the Cretaceous. Referred to by many as “Hell’s Aquarium”, this infamous ecosystem played host to some of the most dangerous species ever to swim Earth’s oceans.

Our tylosaurus proriger is less dangerous thankfully and it demonstrates both the fearsome nature and graceful motion of this aquatic predator. As its jaws yawn open, you can see one of the characteristic traits of mosasaurs: the second set of teeth on the upper jaw.

Our model, expertly sculpted by Dave at Nova Studios is an impressive 80cm long, 22cm wide and 40cm high.

Our basic product offering comes in two forms:

  • A raw, unpainted model kit printed in resin at a 16k resolution. Some elements of this model will be supported with brass dowels. If you select this form, you will receive a ready to articulate, but unfinished assembly. It will come un-primed and will require painting/weathering. Each kit will come with a set of basic instructions and material recommendations.

  • A finished model which has been painted, weathered and varnished (to protect paint job). It will be shipped unarticulated, however basic assembly instructions will be included. Time required for assembly: Appox 10 minutes.

  • Due to shipping weights and varying tastes in aesthetics, the pictured wooden base would not be included, but if you want a base for your model, one can be included for an extra cost and you can inquire via the “Contact Us” section of this site.

For those wishing to order a finished tylosaurus, please select the “finished option” and our artist Joe will be in contact to discuss paint schemes, time frames etc. Joe will also provide updates through the entire build process so you can see how your dinosaur was made! Standard expected time to finish before shipping 4 working weeks.

For those wanting smaller sizes…..no you don’t. Trust us. For those wanting bigger - let us know via the “Contact Us” section of our site.
