Simosuchus clarki

from £150.00

Crocodilians have done it all since appearing on earth some 225 million years ago. Simosuchus is one of the more benign and “friend-shaped” forms which evolved.

Roughly the size of a modern domestic dog and herbivorous, simosuchus is not what many imagine when the word “crocodile” is mentioned, given its other, rather ferocious family members. Its name even means “pug-nosed crocodile”.

Having evolved in Madagascar in the Late Cretaceous, simosuchus would have shared its habitat with some dangerous neighbours. Due to this, it was also heavily armoured all over its body.

Our model is based on FMNH PR 2597 and its approx dims are 80 cm in length, 40 cm in width, and 33 cm in height.
