Dilophosaurus has been a pretty iconic dinosaur since Jurassic Park threw it into the limelight. However, the characteristic double crests which gave its name not withstanding, the creature portrayed in the film adaptation of Jurassic Park was largely inaccurate.
The real dilophosaurus was the stuff of nightmares in the early Jurassic.
At 6-7 meters long and about 450kg (roughly the size of a kodiak grizzly bear) dilophosaurus was not only large, but it was built for speed and had deadly weapons. It was a threat to most of the creatures it shared a habitat with.
As one of the most popular, and striking sculpts by Creaturesculp Studio, this resting dilophosaur is a fantastic representation of what daily life would have looked like for an early Jurassic apex predator; quietly resting next to a recent kill.
Our exclusive offer of this sculpt features partial filamentous (proto) feathering across the back and arms, and this feathering comes to a taper along the tail.
This kit comes as one piece and as such is a great model for beginners as there is obviously minimal assembly and a great opportunity to paint this prehistoric predator in all of its glory.
