Life-Sized Suchomimus Skull
The fearsome suchomimus, known for its elongated jaws and sharp teeth which earned it its name of “crocodile mimic” was a fish-eating dinosaur that roamed North Africa during the Early Cretaceous period. Belonging to the Spinosauridae family, which also includes the famous Spinosaurus, suchomimus occupied a prehistoric niche somewhat similar to that of modern bears. This model, sculpted by Nova Studios, accurately captures the skull’s unique features, including its long, slender snout, ideal for catching aquatic prey, its sagital crest and its peg-like teeth similar to those of crocodilans. The skull of suchomimus is an important fossil for understanding the feeding behaviors and adaptation of theropods for its region and time.
This life-sized Suchomimus skull model is an impressive and scientifically accurate representation of one of the most iconic theropod dinosaurs from the Early Cretaceous period. Offering remarkable detail, and showcasing the skull’s elongated, narrow structure and specialized features for hunting fish. This model is perfect for educational purposes, museum displays, or enthusiasts who want to showcase a realistic dinosaur skull in their collection.
Model Dimensions:
Length: 126.7 cm (49.9 inches)
Height: 72.5 cm (28.5 inches)
Width: 36.9 cm (14.5 inches)
Our basic product offering comes in two forms:
A raw, unpainted kit made from PLA. If you select this form, you will receive a ready to articulate, but unfinished assembly. The model will require the gluing of multiple joints, which we recommend doing before painting. The skull is fitted together with a dowel and peg structure system. It will come un-primed and will require painting/weathering. Each kit will come with a set of basic instructions and material recommendations.
A finished model which has been painted, weathered and varnished (to protect paint job). For those looking for shipping costs, at this size, it is included in the price.
If you choose the finished option, Joe will send an email across to discuss paint schemes, time frames etc. He will also provide email updates as he progresses through the build so you can see how your raptor foot was made! An estimated completion time would be 6-8 working weeks.
If you would like an alternative size (like say half size), materials or something slightly different, please get in touch via the “contact us” page.
