Carnotaurus sastrei 1:15 Scale Model
Carnotaurus sastrei is a charismatic and iconic albelisaur from Patagonia. Carnotaurus has several unusual features which lead to it being instantly recognisable: its namesake horns above its eyes, its blunt bulldog like face, its almost comically short arms (it didn’t even have elbows!) and, perhaps most intriguing of all, its skin texture.
Despite only one carnotaurus skeleton being discovered, the skeleton was in such good shape, even skin impressions left by the living animal were found. Because of this, carnotaurus takes on an almost magical quality - it is so unique and we are so close, and yet so far from knowing exactly what it looked like.
Our carnotaurus, expertly sculpted by Dave at Nova Studios, is just as weird and wonderful as the real thing, if perhaps a little smaller. It is so well-proportioned we actually discovered when building it up it will actually stand and balance on its own two feet (though we don’t recommend this for display).
This model’s dimensions are an impressive 60cm long and 35cm high.
Our basic product offering comes in two forms:
A raw, unpainted model kit printed in resin at a 16k resolution. If you select this form, you will receive a ready to articulate, but unfinished assembly. It will come un-primed and will require painting/weathering. Each kit will come with a set of basic instructions and material recommendations.
A finished model which has been painted, weathered and varnished (to protect paint job). It will be shipped unarticulated, however basic assembly instructions will be included. Time required for assembly: Appox 10-15 minutes.
Due to shipping weights and varying tastes in aesthetics, the pictured wooden cabinet base will not be included, but if you want a base for your model, one can be included for an extra cost and you can inquire via the “Contact Us” section of this site.
For those wishing to order a finished carnotaurus, please select the “finished option” and our artist Joe will be in contact to discuss paint schemes, time frames etc. Joe will also provide updates through the entire build process so you can see how your dinosaur was made! Standard expected time to finish before shipping 4 working weeks.
