Custom Builds & Commissions

Not everyone wants to build and paint. Assembling a scale model of a skeleton can be intimidating. Perhaps you just want to simply order a finished model, or you want something unique.

Either way, we are happy to build up models and have them delivered to you.

The Process Explained

Commissioning art on the internet can be an interesting thing to navigate. We’ve tried to make that as simple and transparent as possible.

We have two different practices, and basically these boil down to size. Life-sized models of larger creatures require a slightly different approach due to the costs of materials involved. Smaller creatures and scale models are more manageable by comparison, so there is a more streamlined approach for these builds.

Stage One (Understanding Details of Commission)

  • Selecting a creature and getting in touch. Using the commission form button on applicable models (or this page) to let us know what you are after.

  • We’ll respond back as quick as we are able (normally one business day). This is to confirm feasibility, time frames and your preferences.

  • For a manageable, scale model sized build, the cost will be charged all at once, but our website offers payment plans to help break up charges. For larger items, a deposit of 25% will be taken before work starts. In these cases we send a proper invoice with details.

  • Finally, we will agree build update correspondence frequency. So if you want an update every Monday for example, we’ll email pictures and a small written update of your build.

Stage Two (The Build Process)

  • Once all the details are finalized from stage one, we’ll begin work.

  • You will be sent regular updates on build process. This way you are kept in the loop and you can offer feedback as we build - ensuring you get exactly what you are after.

Stage Three (Delivery)

  • Once a build has been completed, images of the final product will be sent for review.

  • Once final images have been approved, if you have ordered a large build, this is when we would invoice for the remainder.

  • Once final approvals have been received, and there are no outstanding payments (large builds) we will ship via a tracked and insured service.

  • Shipping for large builds may be calculated after they have been completed and require specialised packing.

“We’re doing this because we absolutely love it. We designed the models, and we’ve done the research. Every build leaving our shop is therefore a matter of personal pride.”
